Pelleve Q & A

by Lucia Cagnes, MD

What Is Pelleve?

Pelleve is a new type of treatment that works to reverse the aging process. By using the power of radiofrequency energy, it can help to boost collagen production and tighten your skin. It's a great non-invasive tool for reducing fine wrinkles and lines without dangerous surgery or painful needles.

What Can Pelleve Treat?

Pelleve is a good treatment for a number of conditions resulting from aging and skin damage. Many patients use it to spruce up their eyes by removing crow's feet, loose skin below and above the eye, and lines and folds between the eyebrows. It can also be used to remove wrinkles around the mouth, smile lines, nasolabial folds and lines on the forehead for full face revitalization.

Pelleve is not limited to the face only. It can even be used to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the thighs and backside.

How Does Pelleve Work?

Receiving a Pelleve treatment is fast, easy, and painless. During your appointment, Dr. Cagnes will use a small handpiece to direct radio frequency beams onto the treatment area. This energy will penetrate through the surface of the skin without harming it, reaching to the tissues underneath. The heat generated during this process will cause the collagen in your skin to tighten and contract, reducing the sagging and wrinkled appearance of your skin. The whole treatment should take less than an hour from start to finish.

After the procedure is over, you will be able to get back to your normal routine right away with no downtime. The only side effects you might notice are a slight redness or elevated skin temperatures, both of which dissipate in a few minutes. For the best results, you will need to have three to five total treatments about four weeks apart.

How Long Do Pelleve Results Last?

You should begin to see improvements in your skin right after your first treatment, and your face will only continue to look smoother and firmer as time goes on. However, Pelleve is not a permanent fix for aging. After about six months, you may need a maintenance treatment to keep your wrinkles away.
